Black Panther Crosses Dark Knight In The Box Office

It seems that even the Dark Knight is unable to stop the king of Wakanda, Black Panther at the box office. Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther has just earned another 41 million dollars in the box office last office. This has brought the domestic box office total of the newly released MCU movie to be around $562 million.

One of the most interesting things you need to note is that the solo outing of the Wakandian King has just surpased the box office collection of one of the best superhero movies ever made, that is, The Dark Knight. According to reports from reliable sources, MCU’s Black Panther is currently the highest grossing solo comic book superhero movie ever. In addition, Black Panther is also the seventh-highest grossing movie in the domestic box office at the moment.

The only MCU movie with more box office earning than Black Panther is the first Avengers movie, which was released in the year 2012. MCU’s first superhero showdown Avengers had scored 623.4 million dollars and went on to became the fifth highest grossing movie of all time and the highest grossing superhero movie. However, records are meant to be broken and Black Panther is rumoured to break MCU’s box office records in the coming weeks.

Even if Black Panther managed to break the box office record of Dark Knight and the first Avengers movie, the success enjoyed by the ones who made Black Panther might be short lived. This is mainly because the greatest MCU superhero showdown, Avengers Infinity War is just a few weeks ago and it is estimated to break every superhero movie record.

However, in a recent statement, Mar Millar, who is writer some of the top selling Marvel comic books including Civil War believes that Black Panther’s box office record will remain intact even after the release of Avengers Infinity War. He said, “I'm going to make a bold, crazy prediction and you can giggle all you want: But I think Black Panther is going to outgross Avengers: Infinity War. I can feel it in my BONES”

Black Panther ending has really hinted a few clues about Bucky Burney’s character in the third Avengers movie, particularly the end credits scene. So, if you have not yet got a chance to see Chadwick Boseman, Letitia Wright, Michael B Jordan, and more in action, grab your Black Panther tickets and enjoy the show before Avengers Infinity War releases.
