Ryan Coogler Writes an Emotional Letter to Black Panther Fans

Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther is not just another success MCU movie that will beat box office records instead it is a flat out phenomenon, which was an absolute treat to MCU fans and casual movie lovers.  As per reports, MCU’s Black Panther has earned 202 million dollars in just three days after its opening. The only other Avengers movie that has acquired more money in the box office was The Avengers

As Marvel fans and movie lovers are enjoying the massive success of Black Panther, the director of the movie, Ryan Coogler is speechless but he still does have a few things to say to fans. Ryan Coogler, who has enjoyed success with Creed and Fruitvale Station has made history, as Black Panther is the highest grossing film in the United States, which was directed by a black director. Coogler celebrated the success of Black Panther by writing an emotional letter to shows his gratitude to fans.

Coogler Wrote, “I am struggling to find the words to express my gratitude at this moment, but I will try. Filmmaking is a team sport. And our team was made up [of] amazing people from all over the world who believe in this story. Deep down we all hoped that people would come to see a film about a fictional country on the continent of Africa, made up of a cast of people of African descent.”

He added, “Never in a million years did we imagine that you all would come out this strong. It still humbles me to think that people care enough to spend their money and time watching our film- But to see people of all backgrounds wearing clothing that celebrates their heritage, taking pictures next to our posters with their friends and family, and sometimes dancing in the lobbies of theaters– often moved me and my wife to tears. For the people who bought out theaters, who posted on social about how lit the film would be, bragged about our awesome cast, picked out outfits to wear, and who stood in line in theaters all over the world– all before seeing the film.”

He concluded his letter by adding, “To the press who wrote about the film for folks who hadn’t yet seen it, and encouraged audiences to come out. And to the young ones, who came out with their parents, with their mentors, and with their friend. Thank you for giving our team of filmmakers the greatest gift: The opportunity to share this film, that we poured our hearts and souls into, with you.”

It is possible that Coogler might return to direct Black Panther 2 but there hasn’t been any official confirmation. However, it is evident that Kevin Feige and Marvel Studious will love to have the visionary and extremely talented Ryan Coogler back. Black Panther and some of his allies will be back for Avengers Infinity War, which is just a couple of months away from release.

Sebastian Stan Loves To Take Up the Mantle of Captain America

The upcoming Avengers movies, Avengers Infinity War and Avengers 4 will bring a number of changes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and it would possibly mark the final showdown of some of the iconic Marvel characters such as Thor, Captain America, and Iron Man. One of the most common fan theories surfacing around the internet suggest that the Steve Rogers might sacrifice his life during Avengers Infinity War to stop the Mad Titan, Thanos.

One of the most interesting things about this fan theory is that MCU fans claims that Bucky Barnes/ Winter Soldier will take up the mantle of Captain America after the demise of Steve Rogers. During an interview, Sebastian Stan who plays Bucky Barnes aka Winter Soldier was asked whether he would like to play Captain America in the MCU or not.

Stan said, “I mean, yeah I would love that one day, absolutely. I don't know when that day would be, and I just think...it would be a very different Captain America you know, you wouldn't be able to have the same Captain America as you have right now because he's a different guy. Again, there's this issue where we've got to get him to be trustworthy enough for them to give him that responsibility, you know, to fill those shoes, and those are hard shoes to fill. So I think it's possible, I really do, but it just has to make sense and we might need a little more time.”

We still have no clue or official confirmation on whether Bucky Barnes will suit up as Captain America or not but we know is that the contract of Chris Evans will end by the fourth Avengers movie. Therefore, there is a good possibility for someone else to take up the mantle of Captain America. Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson/Falcon is also another possible candidate to take up the position of Captain America in the upcoming marvel movies.

However, as for now, it seems that Chris Evans is incredibly happy and he is very much enjoying his time with the shield. Chris Evans said, “No, it's wonderful. It's so nice. Sometimes I've played not so savory characters in the past and it's, you know, you got to be in a really nasty headspace and you can't help but take some of that home with you and it can feel like a little bit of a storm cloud."

He added, “But playing Cap, it's such a nice energy to try to encompass every day. You can't help but try and compare it to your own life and find kind of analogous circumstances where you can live up to the person you try to portray each day. No, its a blessing. I love it.” Chris Evans and Sebastian Stan will share screen once again in Avengers Infinity War, which is scheduled for a May 4th release.

Chris Hemsworth’s MCU Contract will end by Avengers 4

The Australian actor, Chris Hemsworth who has played the God of Thunder Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe recently confirmed that he is through playing the iconic Marvel superhero. The actor also confirmed that his MCU contract will expire after the fourth Avengers movie, which is rumoured to hit the screen by the summer of 2019.

Chris Hemsworth said, “My contract's coming to an end, we've just finished the last two Avengers. Who knows what the future holds.” Even though the third instalment of the Thor movie, Thor: Ragnarok was considered as a breath of fresh air and one of the most enjoyable Marvel movies till date, Chris Hemsworth feel looks at the movie as an ending note.

However, the Australian actor did confirm that he is all set to make a comeback for Thor 4 if the creators at Marvel can come up with something much better than Thor: Ragnarok. Hemsworth talked about the last Thor movie and said, “We felt like we reinvented the last one in a big way. We might have a conversation if there's another great script that comes along. But at the moment that's it.”

As we are a few months into the release of one of the most anticipated superhero movie, Avengers Infinity War, we need to embrace the fact that things are changing in the MCU. The founding members of the MCU’s Avengers such as Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, and Hawkeye will not be around for future Marvel movies, as most of their contracts are expiring.

Additionally, the arrival of the Mad Titan, Thanos to the earth to claim the Infinity Stones might also mean that some MCU heroes may have to sacrifice their lives to stop the Mad Titan. Fortunately, it has been confirmed that Chris Hemsworth will be appearing in both the upcoming Avengers movies. So, we hope that we will be able to see a heroic and epic conclusion to Thor’s journey in the MCU.

The upcoming Avengers movies, Avengers Infinity War (2018) and the Untitled Avengers movie (2019) is rumoured to be the final act for some of our favourite MCU characters including Thor, Captain America, and Iron Man. These heroes will pass the torch to other major Marvel characters like Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, and Captain Marvel to transform the face of MCU.

Will Captain Marvel Debut In Avengers Infinity War

When it comes to raw power, Carol Danvers/ Captain Marvel, is one of the strongest heroes in the Marvel Universe. So, it would be a huge disappointment and shame if one of the most iconic Female marvel superheroes doesn’t make an appearance in the next Avengers movie to lend a helping hand to the MCU superheroes in their fight against the Mad Titan, Thanos.

It has been already rumoured and almost confirmed that the Marvel superheroes will have to take extreme measure to stop Thanos from acquiring the Infinity stones. This is why it would make perfect sense to introduce Captain Marvel to the mix, as she will be able to help the Avengers in defeating the mad titan. Moreover, if you are a comic book reader, then you might also be familiar with the fact that Captain Marvel has stood tall on tall with Iron Man and Captain America. In fact, she has even punched Tony Stark, which put him in coma for years. This just gives us a subtle hint on what Captain Marvel is really capable of.

Fan theories and speculations about the appearance of Captain Marvel in Avengers Infinity War have been flooding the internet over the last few weeks. So, fans had anticipated that she might be making a cameo in the post credits scene of the movie. However, recent reports suggest that Carol Danvers might not be making an appearance in the third Avengers movie, Avengers Infinity War, which will hit the theatres in a couple of months.

During the Comic Con, one of the directors of the third Avengers movie, Joe Russo confirmed that Carol Danvers/ Captain Marvel will not appear in Infinity War. However, he did proclaim that Carol Danvers will play a crucial role in Avengers 4 movie, which will be releasing on May, 2018. In addition to that, Scarlett Johansson who plays Black Widow in the MCU stated that Brie Larson who will be playing Carol Danvers/ Captain Marvel is in Avengers 4. She also added that Larson has already shared a scene with Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk. “She’s here before shooting the stand-alone Captain Marvel movie so we get to watch her get her feet wet for real,” Johansson said.

Jessica Jones' Season 2 to premiere on March 8

Our favourite hard drinking Private Investigator and the strongest Defender, Jessica Jones will be back to our screen on March 8, 2018 for the highly anticipated second season of one of best Netflix series, Jessica Jones. Even though the second season of the critically acclaimed Marvel Netflix show is just a few months away, the show runners has not yet revealed much details about the new season.

However, according to the official synopsis, it seems that Jessica will still be dealing with her history even after the death of Kilgrave, who was the main antagonist in the first season of the show. The official synopsis reads, "New York City private investigator Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) is beginning to put her life back together after murdering her tormenter, Kilgrave. Now known throughout the city as a super-powered killer, a new case makes her reluctantly confront who she really is while digging deeper into her past to explore the reasons why."

The new set images released gives a clear look at the titular heroine, Jessica Jones. In addition to that, we also get a brief glimpse at the supporting characters of season 2. Janet McTeer, who plays a crucial mystery character in the second season of Jessica Jones can be seen talking with the Private Detective. The show runners have already hinted that the character played by Janet McTeer will change the world of Jessica Jones and her allies.

In one of the set images, we can also see the sinister Kilgrave played by David Tennant, who is popularly known as the Purple Man among comic readers and Marvel fans. However, it has been reported that Kilgrave  will only be appearing in a single episode, as a flashback or as a manifestation in Jessica’s mind, as he was killed in the first season of the show.

The showrunner, Melissa Rosenberg said, "I will always use as much as I can from the books, but unfortunately we've gone away from that mythology. The MCU is very different, and we're probably not going to be able to do parallel storylines. But I take every little piece I can [from the comics], because it's so good." She added, "I just want to continue with Jessica's character – she's very damaged, and the damage goes beyond Kilgrave, so there's a lot to mine from in her backstory and her present day situation."

Black Panther Director Wanted Spider-Man Villain Kraven The Hunter

The King of Wakanda, Black Panther will finally make his highly anticipated solo debuted in a few days and this MCU film will set up Avengers Infinity War, which is rumoured to be the greatest Marvel superhero showdown ever. In a recent interview, the director of Black Panther, Ryan Coogler revealed a shocking statement that two iconic Marvel characters almost made their live action debut in his movie.

Ryan Coogler added that he had originally planned for the long time foe of Spider-Man, Kraven the hunter to appear in the solo outing of Black Panther. However, the executives from MCU and Marvel studious refused his suggestions because they had other plans for Kraven the hunter. This means that Kraven might appear in the sequel of Spider-Man Homecoming or in one of the future movies of Sony that comes after Tom Hardy’s Venom.

Ryan Coogler said, “Being a Marvel fan, you want to grab all the characters, you realise there’s contractual things. You don’t have that character. There was a Christopher Priest run that was pretty heavy, there’s a big scene where Panther’s fighting Kraven, Kraven the Hunter.”

He added, “I’ve always loved Kraven the Hunter in almost every iteration. So there was a moment – ‘Can I grab Kraven?’ – and they were ‘Nah, you don’t have Kraven.’ He was one where I thought ‘Oh, man.’ But I don’t even know if he would have worked in the movie we ended up with, this was the early days.”

It is pretty exciting to hear Ryan Coogler is a passionate Marvel comic book fan and he has a number of ideas to bring more Marvel characters to the screen. This might help us to see more characters that are related to Black Panther or other Marvel superheroes in the sequel of Black Panther, which is rumored to take place after the events of the upcoming Avengers movies, Avengers Infinity War and Avengers 4.

Ryan Coogler also added that he had also wanted the Young Avenger, Eli Bradley aka Patriot to make an appearance in Black Panther. He said, “Crazy enough, for comic book fans, we toyed with the character Patriot for a little bit. Early on we were interested to get our hands on him, Joe [Robert Cole] and I, but that ended up going away so we could focus on Wakanda a little more.”

Daredevil Season 3 Images Teases Kingpin’s Return

The crime boss and the villainous Wilson Fisk, who goes by the name Kingpin was one the best things about the first season of Daredevil. D'Onofrio’s performance as the archenemy of the devil of Hell’s kitchen was absolutely spoon and it was widely accepted by both critics and fans who wanted to see more of D’Onofrio’s kingpin. However, the screen time given to Wilson Fisk was pretty much limited in the second season of Daredevil.

Surprisingly, the third season of Daredevil, which is rumored to adapt the Born Again comic story line, will contain D'Onofrio, as one of the series regulars. This implies that D'Onofrio’s kingpin will play a key role in the third season of the series. In fact, the recently released set photos from the set of Daredevil hints that Wilson Fisk’s is finally out of the jail

Charlie Cox will return as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen for the third season of the series and it has also been confirmed that Deborah Ann Wolf will also be back as Karen Page. Apart from that, Rosario Dawson who plays the nurse Claire Temple in the Netflix shows of Marvel will also be reprising her role

In a recent interview, Vincent D'Onofrio spoke about playing Wilson Fisk and said, "I love the idea that I get to play him. I wanted to do the right thing, and I want to keep doing it. I remember the first season and how all of the Daredevil and Fisk fans were talking about it. It's a big deal to them, and that really inspired me. It really brought my enthusiasm up, a lot."

He added, "I've shot some pretty cool scenes, so far. It's different, but it's very Fisk. It's still very emotional. The character is evolving. His whole deal is based on emotion, so we're taking him down that role further." This season of Daredevil will certainly be emotional, as many of us are under the impression that Matt Murdock/Daredevil gave his life to save the city at the end of Defenders. So, the season will explore the state of mind of Karen, Foggy, and others who have no clue that Matt is alive after the events of Defenders.
