Can Thanos Become The New Darth Vader

For most of us, particularly to the ones who grew up watching Star Wars, Darth Vader will be one of the best and greatest movie villains of all time. Off course, there were a number of better villains including Heath Ledger’s Joker and Anthony Hopkins’ Hannibal Lecter. However, there was something about Darth Vader, which made him a lot more intimidating and scarier than other villains.

One of the major issues with the MaCU was that they didn’t have many great villains. Loki was good but he could not scare the avengers whereas Ultron was scarier but he failed to prove his point. Over the last ten years, fans were deeply disappointed because MCU was not able to introduce a strong antagonist who could tear down the Avengers with his strength, power or intellect.

However, these complaints from MCU fans and Marvel comic book readers will finally come to end when the third Avengers movie, Avengers Infinity War hit the screen. It has already been established that Thanos will bring destruction and some of the heroes might not even be able to outlive the attack of the Mad Titan. The co-director of Avengers Infinity War, Joe Russo recently stated that he hopes that Thanos (Josh Brolin) will become Darth Vader for the current or next generation.

He said, “Darth Vader was the pre-eminent villain of my childhood, and we're hoping to make a Darth Vader for a new generation. We're hoping he has that complexity to him, and that he strikes fear into the heart of the audience, but at the same time they go on a journey with him. Frankly, Avengers 3 is his movie.”

The president of Marvel Studios had already teased that Thanos will establish himself as the greatest and strongest Marvel villan within 5 minutes of the Infinity war. He said, "We’ve been teasing him for years and the trick is when you tease something for that long you have to deliver. Within the first five minutes of Infinity War, people will understand why Thanos is the biggest and baddest villain in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe."

Joe Russo added, "It's very important to us that Thanos has a level of photorealism that makes that audience believe him. He added that Thanos is an incredible threat and the heroes may have to extreme steps to prevent him from achieving his goal.
